The Quiet Pause
JANUARY 12TH TO FEBRUARY 11TH 2026
You are invited to a one-month nervous system experiment where we start the year quietly allowing the body to arrive before anything is asked of it.
Most years don’t start with any sense of gentleness or pause. They begin loudly with demand and urgency.
Even in moments of hope or visioning, the nervous system is often asked to sprint before it’s resourced with unmet dreams, unfinished cycles, and unprocessed experiences on its back.
Start Your Year Quiet is an attempt to disrupt this pattern and choose a different way of beginning.
This entire experiment is centered around the question, ‘what could happen if we started 2026 quietly rather than quickly?’
This is not a productivity reset or an attempt at optimizing your nervous system for performance. It’s a pause in the doorway of a new year; an invitation for your body to arrive before anything is asked of it.
Over 30 days, we slow the beginning of the year just enough for your nervous system to land through quiet somatic support, and shared space.
Where we make the choice not to rush the beginning, but step into a well-held pause.
The way you’d enter a warm room: slowly, deliberately, letting your body land.
Fewer inputs. Lower lights. Enough space for your system to settle and feel what’s actually here.
This is about letting your body arrive before you ask it to orient toward the future.
We’re not removing ambition, we’re changing the state ambition comes from.
We’re not dismissing vision or dreams, we’re changing the conditions they’re shaped in.
We’re not rejecting goals or planning, we’re creating space for the nervous system to land so that when movement begins, it comes from resource and coherence.
The premise is simple and quietly radical.
We don’t sprint into the year or vision board out way out of feeling dysregulated, but we spend a month:
slowing down the external input
practicing sensory care
orienting to the goodness of the life we’re actually in
resourcing our nervous system to land
We’re creating conditions where the nervous system feels more regulated and held, so your body can move from actual resource.
There are three simple movements
to this experiment.
Choose your quiet.
What actually lowers the internal volume for your system?
Choose an input you’re going to intentionally make quieter.
For example, doomscrolling, background reality tv while working or eating, researching, always having the news on.
Decide your practice.
What is a simple, accessible practice to help your nervous system land?
Choose a practice that will be an anchor for your body in this experience.
For example, lighting a candle, three deep breaths, somatic movement, self-holding, baths, journaling, lifting your face to the sky.
We do it together.
What happens when your body doesn’t have to hold the new year alone?
For thirty days, we will feel our bodies land resourced and held.
There is something regulating about refusing the sprint together and choosing a different way forward. Some even find it healing.
An orientation names how you want to live, move, and make choices inside the year rather than focusing on outward accomplishments. We focus on sensation more than we look at milestones of doing.
At the close of the month, we’ll meet for a sixty-minute guided workshop where we shape our orientations together. You’ll be guided through a simple process to name how you want to live and move through the year ahead.
At the end of the thirty days, we close by creating a body-led orientation for the year ahead rather than writing goals or plans through a guided workshop.

One of my perspectives is that when we begin the year in a state of intensity and activation, the visions we form are often shaped by that state. We may end up organizing our year around urgency, comparison, or intensity mistaking those signals for desire.
The Quiet Pause is an intentional interruption of that pattern.
Instead of shaping your year from intensity, urgency, or comparison, this experience creates the conditions for your nervous system to settle first, so that whatever begins to take shape actually belongs to you.
This is how a year gets shaped from coherence and resonance instead of expectation and overstimulation.
Imagine the year ahead of you. What might it feel like to begin it settled and resourced rather than overstimulated and reacting? What might become possible for you when your year is shaped from that space? What might starting your year quietly actually open up for you?
This is intentionally accessible
and designed in support of you.
